Client brief was to modernise the existing 5 bedroom terrace house to suit the needs of a large family as well as to let more light into the basement and ground floors. It was necessary for the client to remove internal walls in the ground floor in order to make for better circulation and connect the living area with the kitchen area.
Based on an early conceptual idea Major Oak developed the final design and specification in direct consultation with the Client and the Client’s interior designers.
Contract Type : Design and Build

The basement was stripped back to brick, tanking was repaired where it had failed and a new modern office was fitted out along with a movie room all complete with bespoke joinery.
Major Oak was responsible for the design, supply and fit of new glazing throughout the property. The internal spaces and particularly the lightwell were fitted with frameless full height glazing. A new opening was formed on the FF bedroom to allow for a new timber framed french door and juliet balcony and not least a beautiful glass framed oriel window looking out in the rear garden
The property suffered from poorly constructed bathrooms. All 4 bathrooms were fully renovated and tanked to withstand the wet environment.
