Both interior and architectural design by Client’s nominated architect. Architect acting as contract administrator.
Engineering solutions by Major Oak , all joinery and furniture bespoke and made by Major Oak.
We were deilighted to work with architect’s nominated subcontractors for the timber sash windows , kitchen supply and fireplace. Major Oak managed the sub-contractors on site , orders and deliveries to ensure programme was met.
Logistics , deliveries and carrying material along a busy route were especially challenging. Major Oak acknowledged this prior to commencement , scheduled deliveries in coordination with local authorities and neighbours. A cantilevered scaffold design was utilised to ferry all material to the third floor avoiding neighbourly disturbance through manual carrying via communal areas.
Bespoke joinery was designed and built throughout the property , including wardrobes, TV furniture , and bespoke kitchen bench and cushions.
The introduction of new underfloor heating along two levels , new kitchens and bathrooms and an MVHR system meant that architectural details had to be worked out along with us in order to ensure head heights and floor levels were within client needs. The fine tuning of the new floor by Major Oak early on allowed the client to optimise their space.
